Let’s Get Social

Graffiti on the wall in Barcelona. Boy runs with newspaper.

Genealogy can be found everywhere in social media. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest and even Linkedin and those are just the things that I’m into.

Pinterest is fast becoming one of my favorite places to save things that I need to get back to. Think of it as your personal online bulletin board. To see our Pinterest boards click HERE.

Below is a collection of links to articles that I’ve found over the week that I’ve posted to our Facebook pages for;  Family History Hound, Shop the Hound and Hound on the Hunt. They are by no means all of the items so if your into FB then you might want to follow along   🙂

If you have an Alberta connection then you'll love these records recently added at Ancestry. I use these all the time.

For Alberta the three databases, sourced from the Provincial Archives of Alberta, are:

Births Index, 1870-1896
Marriages Index,1898-1942
Deaths Index, 1870-1966
The Births records gives name, place, year, and registration number.
Marriages provide name, gender, date (year), place, spouse name and registration number.
Deaths include name, gender, date, place and registration number.

Apologies to everyone who follows the Hound on the Hunt. Site is down with what they tell me is "white screen of death". Hopefully back up in a couple of days. #HoundontheHunt ...
