I’m always on the hunt for tools to help with my Family History and one of my favorite tools is Animoto. I use it often for my business and I especially like to use it because it’s so easy to create. But it’s not just for business, it can also be used to share your family history.
At Wikipedia, it tells us that Animoto is a cloud-based video creation service that produces video from photos, video clips, and music into video slideshows.
As I’ve said; it’s easy to use. First, you go to Create and then you choose Animoto Memories. Again you choose to create. This takes you to the video styles page where you have 100’s of styles to choose from. You can choose from some featured styles or by category. Categories include;
- POPULAR
- KIDS
- SCHOOL
- PARTY
- WEDDING
- TRAVEL
- HOLIDAY
- MEMORIAL
Then within each category, there are predesigned videos to choose from. All you have to do is add your photos and add your text. The toughest part is if you decide you want to change the music and that’s only tough because there are so many songs to choose from.

And another that I’ve started about my family. There will be changes and additions to this video but you get the idea and it literally took me about a half hour to make this.
