News From Forever.com

As many of you know one of the many things I’m interested in (and a byproduct of genealogy I think) are family photos. Over the years I’ve scanned all my own photos as well as some of my parents with my Flip-Pal™ mobile scanner. In fact, it was the Flip-Pal that got me started with my store; Shop the Hound. But that’s another story.

One of the things I wanted to do after I scanned all my photos was to get them organized.  This was many years ago and I purchased a product that is now called Forever Historian. Forever Historian is a photo and video organizing program that you can do on your computer. It gives you the ability to tag photos with names, places, and events. As well you can add dates as to when the photos were originally taken. Why would you want to do that? Well, then you’ll have a timeline for your photos so you can now look at all the photos from say 1983 or with the tags you can find every photo you have of a particular person or place. I have tags for surnames and my genealogy and this helps when I can’t find a photo for a blog or project that I’m working on.

Forever Video

Historian is a great place to get your photos and videos organized and then to take it one step further you can buy cloud storage from Forever so that all your photos are safe.  Now for the news from Forever.com. Just yesterday Forever announced that you can now preserve not only your photos but your videos as well. There are two ways you can do this.

  1. You can purchase Forever Storage and you can store and access all your photos and videos.  You have the ability to create albums and you are also able to invite anyone you’d like to look at any or all of your photos (not videos).  What’s unique about the Forever guarantee, and what sold me on the company,  is that they promise to protect your photos for your lifetime plus 100 years. To find out how they can do that you can read more about the guarantee here. With regard to video with this account when you want to look at a video you’ll be able to download the video to your computer for viewing but they will be saved to your Forever account.
  2. The other option is to upgrade to a FOREVER® Premium Video Plan. With this new addition to your regular Forever Storage you can then watch your videos in Full HD Quality online using FOREVER® web & mobile apps anytime you’d like. You can also share those videos with your family and friends.

Forever Historian and Forever Storage are just two aspects of Forever that I love. They also have the Forever Artisan program where you can create books, art for your walls and even gifts and cards for your family. It’s great to have all your photos scanned and protected but you want to do something with them. I created a recipe book (see an example below) of all my mom’s siblings recipes that my cousins absolutely fell in love with.

But if your not a digital scrapbooker then you might like Forever Print where you can create a book in just a few minutes by using the predesigned pages and pulling your photos in. How easy is that?

Or maybe you’d like to make a canvas or tin print like the ones I created below.

They are fun to create and if I can do it anyone can.

Join Me

Here’s the last bit of news that you might be interested in. Next year Forever Live will be held in one of my favorite spots; Las Vegas, Nevada and it’s right before my birthday. How cool is that? But in order to be able to go and join in all the learning and fun, you’ll have to be an Ambassador. I know you might think that’s not for me I don’t want to sell things. But that’s the beauty of this you can be an Ambassador and just enjoy the products and save money when you purchase them. Depending on what you sell (even to yourself) you make anywhere from 10%-35% commission. So even when you’re just buying something at the regular price you’ll get 10% off. But Forever has products on sale all the time so you can enjoy looking after and playing with your photos, saving money and earning a commission. You can see this month’s sales HERE.

All it cost to join is $49 US and when you join you automatically get $25 to spend at the Forever Store (you could buy Forever Artisan or Forever Historian with that) and you can save 20% on a single payment purchase of Forever Storage. So depending on what storage you purchase you can actually get most or all of your sign up costs back. I’d love you to join my team and join me in Las Vegas. If any of this sounds like something you’d like to do then contact me at info@familyhistoryhound.com and put “I want to join your team” in the subject.  (Forever Live special pricing ends August 13th)

How is this different from Shutterfly?

    • As I understand Shutterfly you can create books from templates and you can do this at Forever as well. Shutterfly and Forever both do prints and gifts. But where I think they differ is you can also create your own book from scratch at Forever. Also, Forever is more than just creating books and gifts its also a media scanning service and cloud storage service. Hope this helps.
