The first question is, do you have a favorite ancestor? When I started doing genealogy, I would have a family of the month. I’d work on that family, and if I was tired of them after a month, I’d switch to another family. If I wasn’t tired of the family, I’d keep going.
But do I have a favorite? That’s a tough one. A few do come to mind, like William (Willie) Beaton. I want to find his parents, and then I can move on. So he’s certainly one that’s top of mind.
I don’t think I can choose only one. But I do like to write their stories, and that’s why I have this blog. It allows me to tell the stories I either know or come across as I research. I also write those stories in my genealogy book. I keep adding to the stories, and it’s my hope that someday the book will be printed.
