I’m always trying to think of unique ways to share the things I discover about my ancestors with the rest of the family.
I have my blog, and you’d be surprised what new family connections you can make by having a blog. Recently, I got a message from my second cousin’s girlfriend because she’d come across my blog, and I had mentioned his grandfather.
My cousins can attest that they don’t get to meet up with me without hearing about my latest adventure. LOL, some may say whether they like it or not.
One of my more recent ideas is ancestor cards (I wrote about them HERE) that I’m making up to pass to not only my sons, nephews, and nieces but also to my cousin’s children.
I love to hear the things you do to get your research out to family. Please post your ideas in the comments below.
If you think you have a friend who might like this blog, please feel free to share it with a friend.

I mainly use my blog and agree it’s a great way to make new family connections. Some of my older family members would still prefer some kind of paper tree or book, so I’m following along here looking for ideas. I’ve printed out branches of trees from Family Tree Maker, but it’s not practical to share everything that way.
I’ve also been working on getting more of my information into my Ancestry.com tree so that I can share more that way. That’s especially useful for DNA matches.
Kathryn, yes it’s challenging when it comes to trees … especially if it quite extended. But there are ideas if you only need a few generations. I use FOREVER Artisan 6 (there is a free program to try for 30 days) https://www.forever.com/ambassador/ellenthompson-jennings/artisan
and there is digital art that you can create your tree with https://www.forever.com/ambassador/ellenthompson-jennings/digital_art_library?term=family+tree&button=&priority_facet_id=digital-arts-featured
I’ve tried purchasing from your store in the past and have never had any luck. For some reason I think it’s because you’re in Canada and I’m in the U.S. (Pennsylvania). It’s often to the point that I gave up reading your newsletter for the longest time. I have tried to. Product you of my issues before (over a year ago) and it never went through to you or posted. Hopefully my comment will reach you this time, my last attempt. Thank you, enjoy your weekend.
Lynn, I sent you an email. Let’s see if we can figure this out because I don’t recall getting a message before.
